Survival Tip: Practice your nondominant hand

There's nothing like a badly injured dominant hand to give a reality check. Are right handed, with a severe bruise. I did not break any bones - but the pain is remarkable, what I felt when I close a year before the breaking of bones.

Three days later, I can brush my teeth and looked through a piece of celery with the left hand. I am only able to push with the help of painkillers. I'm happy. What happens when I deal with this type of injury in a survival situation?

OK - PauseShudder. Now here is a plan to adjust the non-dominant hand, with some basic operations. And 'fun when you do - and a great convenience if you need it.

This plan, along with my survival kit pocket, it gives you a head start when your hands life is a surprise.

Phase One:

As you go through the day, you make a list of all the things it takes two hands to bind to do - take your shoes, cars, Floss your teeth, and place an article.Continue to add this list to you every activity that is thought to fall within 24 hours.

The priority of these activities in terms of what you do, the most common. Now, type the list of things you have to do myself (I slip on walking shoes for the three-season walking where I can make my boots peak) and the things they need to learn a one hand.

Practice, practice, practice. Start at the top of the list. Select one of the first threeTasks and try to do it with one hand with your nondominant hand. Seems to take forever. What is incredible how, to try the sixth best effect. As I learned, saw wood, rhythmic movement has helped me to build endurance. E 'muscle memory and a serrated knife, which helped me to cope with the celery.

Now that I have to do this in real life, I am glad that I saw practiced with a knife and a hand. I discovered that even without the ability to collect or dispense, I could usethe weight of the hand or arm, something stable. I use the crook of my elbow or shoulder, to maintain or increase.

Through the link, I can push with two fingers, with astonishing speed. I am grateful that I have access to pain and central heating. I'm sure I will grow old with arthritis a little 'old lady (LOL entender-double), while I continue. LOL But I am a preparation.

Innovative Equipment Transforms Soldiers Country Warriors

Recently, US-equipped army, team leader of the legendary 4 / 9 infantry with the new Land Warrior gear for use on the battlefield. The change is 15 years of development, a system of bodies with an awareness soldier, mobility and effectiveness in use. The study was so successful that in 1000 additional Land Warrior kits were requested.

Land Warrior is an integrated system for the control of individual infantrymen, the troops are increasinglytactical awareness, lethality and survival. The car kit integrated into a weapon, helmet, computers, digital and voice communications, positioning and navigation system, apparatus and protective clothing. Soldiers wear a vest containing a computer system that integrates the battery power for all components and a global positioning system (GPS). The jacket also includes a radio for better communication. A 4.5-kg helmet offers protection and is equipped with the active involvementPart of the communication system (for the transition and receive information). The helmet is also a head-mounted display (HMD), which goes beyond the dominant eye of the soldiers who are used to watching videos, pictures and infrared satellite imagery and topographic maps. The soldier carries a submachine gun with advanced interactive controls that are connected to the computer.

Despite all the potential benefits of the Land Warrior system has a history of chess. After half a billion dollars have beenspent creating and improving the system for more than a decade, the analysis showed that the device was simply too cumbersome for practical use in war. Weighing over 16 pounds, most of the soldiers seemed to believe that the transmission was more a liability than an asset. The funds were cut for the project last year, but somehow the Land Warrior kits landed in the hands of 4 / 9 Infantry in Iraq. After using the equipment, the 4 / 9 tips for editing the discardedMaterial weight up to 10 pounds. With the upgrades and positive reviews from soldiers, the Land Warrior project now seems to be back in action with the Army's request for additional funding for field testing of equipment.

A word of caution when buying this type of knives, many dealers do not even have the differences between the models. I have both brick and mortar shops and online stores to see the knife under the false name wrong so be careful! May be useful to pay a bit 'more from a trusted dealer to make sure you get exactly what you want.

Gerber LMF II Infantry version comes with sheath and leg straps. The version of infantry and green leaves, Camel Brown, and my personal favorite ... black.

This is another important issue, you should know. From January 2008 to April 2008 for the steel of this knife has been temporarily changed by Sandvik 12C27 SSup to 440A U.S. SS. In May 2008 the production with the original steel was taken. Gerber had to steel, because the change is a lack of available material. US-440A-SS was the closest match they could get.

These knives are great and I commend them. They are good for hunting, camping, survival, and have also seen action in a foreign country. If you're a good solid fixed blade, you can not go wrong with either of these models.

Great Product - I would recommend it after doing lots of research. It's one of the better products out there and has a lifetime warranty from Katadyn against defects in materials and workmanship.
From the Pamphlet:
"Your Katadyn Pocket Microfilter comes with a lifetime warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. Should your Katadyn Pocket prove defective within that period from the date of purchase, return it to the Katadyn retailer from who it was purchased...Please retain your purchase receipt as proof of date purchase..." so be sure to keep your receipt somewhere safe (just in case)

It comes with two hoses (one input hose and one output in it's own bag to prevent cross-contamination), two green scrubbing pads, a measuring device to let you measure when you need to replace the ceramic filter, lubricant and two replacement o-rings (one in one size, and another in smaller size (which I have yet to figure out where it goes)), and a bottle "spring-clip" which allows you to hook the hose to a bottle or reservoir. Make sure you put the "bottle-clip" on the hose before you put the plastic cap on as I had a bit of an adventure getting it on. It comes in a carrying-case to keep it all together.

After reading the instructions you will discover that you need to do an initial pumping to get the "ceramic dust" out of the system. After doing that I taste-tested the water and there was no funky taste or smell. It was crystal clear and had no odor whatsoever.

I own this product and would would highly recommend putting it high on my consideration list if I were shopping for a water-filter.
